CORONAVIRUS UPDATE 12/16/2020: A Message from 十大网赌平台推荐 President, Dr. Alvetta Thomas

Date Posted: December 16, 2020

After careful consideration and in response to the potential spread of COVID-19 in our campus community, 十大网赌平台推荐 has made the decision to delay the start date of the upcoming spring term.  Spring Semester classes will now begin on January 11, 2021.

In addition, most 十大网赌平台推荐 employees will begin working in a virtual environment beginning December 21, 2020 and will continue in this format through January 8, 2021.  The remaining employees will operate on-campus with staggered work schedules.  During this time, 十大网赌平台推荐 faculty and staff will be available during normal office hours to serve you. While we encourage our students and guests to handle any affairs remotely, limited staff will be available on the Griffin Campus Monday – Thursday from 8 am – 6 pm to serve your needs.

As a reminder, all locations and offices of Southern Crescent Technical College will be CLOSED for the holidays from December 24, 2020 – January 1, 2020.  For additional information and a list of office contacts and FAQs, please visit 9wi.bolderair.com/covid-19/.

As we approach the holidays, please be responsible as you gather with friends and family to prevent the potential exposure and spread of COVID-19.  We invite you to monitor 9wi.bolderair.com, your 十大网赌平台推荐 email, and the 十大网赌平台推荐 social media accounts for updated information and resources.

Health officials are continuously working to quickly identify cases of COVID-19, take appropriate public health action to reduce its spread, and protect the general public in identifying potential contacts.  As a reminder, the best prevention measures for any respiratory virus, including COVID-19, are:

  • Wear a mask or face covering.
  • Practice social distancing.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds.
  • If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Stay home when you are sick.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, and then throw the tissue in the trash.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.

The College continues to routinely clean and disinfect all locations.  Should the need arise, we will provide additional guidance.  In the meantime, you are advised to follow all appropriate health and safety guidelines.  For accurate and reliable information about COVID-19, visit dph.georgia.gov/novelcoronavirus or cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov.
